ang Leaders ATTACK NBA Players In Jail After Gambling Scandal Arrests | 10+ NBA Players KILLED!

It started as a gambling scandal. “I’m Christopher Rehea, the Assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s New York field office,” the official began, his tone measured and grave. “Today, our office conducted a massive nationwide takedown from two indictments of 34 defendants for their alleged involvement in two separate illegal poker and sports betting schemes—where, as you’ve heard, the odds were rigged in their favor.”

It was October 23, 2025, the day the sports world would never forget. At dawn, federal agents stormed the homes of NBA players and coaches accused of fixing bets worth millions. But what began as a scandal soon turned into something far bloodier. Inside the jails where the defendants were being held, a series of mysterious attacks began—targeted hits that left investigators baffled. No one could say who ordered them, or why.

The FBI’s Operation Nothing But Bet and Operation Royal Flush would expose not just corruption, but a sprawling criminal enterprise that had infiltrated professional basketball at multiple levels. For years, federal agents had worked tirelessly and quietly, connecting the dots in an investigation that stretched across eleven states and tied the NBA to organized crime. When Assistant Director Rehea stepped up to the podium that morning, even the most hardened law enforcement veterans in the room were stunned by the scale of what they’d uncovered.

The twin operations had been running parallel investigations into what the Bureau described as a multi-tiered criminal network, one that blended professional sports, illegal gambling, and the Mafia’s deep-rooted influence. Thirty-four individuals now faced federal indictments. Six—including active NBA players and coaches—were arrested that very morning. Most of them, hours earlier, had simply woken up expecting an ordinary Wednesday. By nightfall, their lives were over as they knew them.

The FBI’s probe dated back to 2019, focusing on insider betting activity within the NBA between December 2022 and March 2024, as well as high-stakes poker rings in glamorous locations like New York City, Las Vegas, Miami, and the Hamptons. The charges weren’t minor infractions—they carried the full weight of federal law: wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, illegal gambling, and even extortion. Each offense carried potential sentences of up to 20 years in prison.

At the center of the firestorm were two headline names: Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former player and coach Damon Jones. Rozier, an active star earning $26 million a year, was accused of using insider information to manipulate betting outcomes. Jones, once an assistant coach with the Lakers, allegedly sold injury and lineup information to betting syndicates while recruiting victims for the underground poker games. These weren’t fringe figures—they were respected names, men fans watched nightly, now at the heart of one of the most explosive scandals in sports history.

The NBA reacted immediately, suspending implicated players and coaches indefinitely. But the damage had already been done. For fans, executives, and players alike, the questions that followed cut to the core of the sport’s integrity. Could they trust what they were seeing on the court?

Operation Nothing But Bet revealed a chilling insider-trading-style conspiracy within professional basketball. From late 2022 through early 2024, defendants allegedly exploited non-public NBA information—injuries, player rest plans, and coaching decisions—to place bets that were practically guaranteed winners. It was insider betting on a scale the league had never seen. Tens of millions of dollars flowed through the operation, with much of it funneled into La Cosa Nostra’s criminal enterprises.

The scheme’s mechanics were simple but devastating. NBA insiders—players and coaches—shared tips via encrypted messages. They placed bets on “unders,” wagering that certain players would score fewer points or exit games early. They knew the outcomes in advance because they controlled them. In one notorious example, on March 23, 2023, during a Charlotte Hornets game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Rozier allegedly told a friend he planned to leave early with a fake injury. That friend and two associates placed $250,000 in bets on Rozier’s unders. Nine minutes into the game, Rozier left the court. The bets cashed.

The next night, March 24, a similar plot unfolded in a game between the Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls. An insider tip revealed that key Blazers would sit out as part of a “tanking” strategy. Before that information became public, the group wagered over $100,000 against Portland. The Bulls won easily, 124–96. The conspirators were emboldened, certain they had found the secret to endless profit.

It didn’t stop there. On April 6, 2023, during a Magic vs. Cavaliers matchup, another insider tip about resting players led to an $11,000 bet on Cleveland, which covered the spread by 24 points. Even the Los Angeles Lakers weren’t spared—Damon Jones allegedly leaked injury updates about LeBron James and Anthony Davis, leading to six-figure bets on games involving one of the most-watched teams in the world.

But if Operation Nothing But Bet exposed corruption on the court, Operation Royal Flush revealed something far darker off of it. Since 2019, an underground high-stakes poker ring had operated in exclusive venues across the country—Manhattan townhouses once rented by celebrities, Hamptons mansions, luxury Miami suites, and Las Vegas penthouses. Buy-ins started at $50,000, attracting wealthy businessmen, celebrities, and NBA insiders. None of them realized they were walking into what the FBI later described as a “systematized heist.”
