Browns Fans ERUPT After Dillon Gabriel’s DISASTER—Demand Shedeur Sanders
Mitchell Renz of the Raiders Report recently discussed major trade rumors surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders, specifically focusing on wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who was listed by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter as the only Raider among 33 potential trade candidates ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Renz emphasized that while trades don’t always materialize, the NFL has averaged nearly 15 October trades per year over the last six seasons, making the possibility very real.
The case for trading Jakobi Meyers stems from several key factors. First, the Raiders are currently sitting at 2–4 and are widely seen as a struggling team. Meyers previously requested a trade before the season began due to contract disputes, and it’s been reported that his camp was unhappy with how the situation was handled. Although the Raiders declined to meet his asking price—rumored to be well above $17–18 million per year—they have not extended him and drafted multiple receivers in 2025, suggesting they’re preparing to move on.
Despite this, Renz believes the Raiders will likely keep Meyers, estimating a 51% chance of retention versus a 49% chance of a trade. The decision will ultimately come down to the offer—specifically, whether the Raiders receive a third-round pick or better. Renz also noted that letting Meyers walk in free agency could yield a compensatory fourth-round pick in 2026, potentially discouraging the team from accepting anything less than a strong offer now.
One team to watch closely is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who Renz claims have already reached out to the Raiders about Meyers. Other possible suitors include the Patriots, Giants, Commanders, Rams, 49ers, Jaguars, and Bills, all of whom need receiver help.
If the Raiders were to move Meyers, potential replacements could include Tyler Lockett, especially given his connection to quarterback Geno Smith. On the defensive side, Renz named several possible trade targets from Schefter’s list who would fit the Raiders’ needs, particularly in the secondary. These include Anfernee Jennings, Kyle Dugger, Roger McCreary, and most notably, Reek Woolen—a cornerback who fits head coach Pete Carroll’s mold and could pair well with rookie Daren Porter to form a young, high-upside duo.
Renz concluded by stating that whether the Raiders buy or sell at the deadline remains uncertain. However, if they do choose to buy, they will likely prioritize low-cost, high-upside players. He encourages fans to stay tuned, especially with the upcoming Raiders vs. Chiefs matchup in Week 7, emphasizing its heightened importance and rivalry implications.
