Jennifer Lopez’s Ex-Husband Slams Her for ‘Playing the Victim’: “You Are the Problem”
Jennifer Lopez has once again found herself at the center of controversy after making comments about her past relationships that didn’t sit well with at least one of her ex-husbands.
In a recent interview, Lopez opened up about her romantic history, claiming that despite being married four times and receiving grand gestures of love — rings, weddings, houses — she never felt “truly loved.” Speaking candidly, she said, “It’s not that I’m not lovable. It’s that they’re not capable [of love].”
While some fans saw the moment as part of Lopez’s self-reflection journey, others, including her first husband Ojani Noa, took it personally — and publicly.

Noa, a Cuban-born actor and producer who was married to Lopez from 1997 to 1998, responded with a furious Instagram post, accusing her of rewriting the past and “playing the victim.” He wrote, “Stop putting me down with your victim card. The problem is not us. The problem is you.”
He didn’t stop there. In a scathing message, Noa claimed he was a devoted, honest, and faithful husband during their marriage, saying, “I was too good of a man for you. I never lied, never cheated. I gave up everything to support your dreams. And you cheated. You chose fame over love.”
Noa also criticized what he called Lopez’s selective memory, pointing out that she had been married four times and had “countless relationships in between.” According to him, her statement that no one ever truly loved her was an unfair generalization that threw all her exes under the bus — including those, like him, who genuinely cared.
The backlash from Noa comes at a sensitive time for Lopez, who has recently been in the spotlight again due to renewed rumors of marital tension with her current husband, Ben Affleck. While Lopez has emphasized her personal growth and self-love, critics — including Noa — argue that she’s using her public platform to paint herself as the constant victim in her relationships, rather than acknowledging her own role in past breakups.
To date, Lopez has not responded to Noa’s comments directly. However, in the same interview, she hinted that her struggles in love were less about her exes as individuals and more about a deeper emotional disconnect she had long felt. “They gave me everything,” she said, “but something was missing.”
Still, Noa’s explosive reaction has sparked debate online: Is Lopez simply expressing her truth and healing from past trauma — or unfairly dragging her exes into a narrative where they can’t defend themselves?
For now, the tension between Lopez and her first husband reminds the public that even decades-old relationships can resurface in today’s social media-driven culture. And as both sides tell their stories, one thing is clear — the wounds from the past haven’t completely healed.
